Side Ancient City
Manavgat, Antalya
One of the best-known cities of the classical period, with a theater, agora and wall gates intertwined with modern Side on the peninsula.
Its story
Side was built on a peninsula jutting into the sea in Manavgat district, and its ancient remains are interwoven with today's resort town. The great theater, the monumental city gate and the colonnaded streets reflect the city's wealth in the Roman period. The temples at the tip of the peninsula are especially impressive at sunset. Most of the remains can be explored on foot.
