Its story
Selinus was built on the slope of a small peninsula west of central Gazipaşa, about 45 km east of Alanya. Its history goes back to the 6th century BC. Emperor Trajan, who fell ill on his way back from the Parthian campaign and came to this city, died here on 9 August 117. The hilltop castle (Gazipaşa Castle), the aqueduct and the remains known as Trajan's monumental building are right next to the beach.
