Köprüpazar (Aspendos) Bridge
Serik, Antalya
A zigzag stone bridge built by the Seljuks in the 13th century on the piers of the Roman Eurymedon bridge.
Its story
The bridge over the Köprüçay was built on the remains of the Eurymedon Bridge, constructed near Aspendos in the Late Roman period. In the 13th century the Seljuks built a new bridge with pointed arches, using the old foundations and stones. Because it follows the Roman piers, there is a pronounced bend in the middle of the bridge, giving it an unusual appearance.
