Temple of Apollo, Side
Manavgat, Antalya
A 2nd-century AD Roman temple at the tip of the peninsula, its five columns rising against the sea.
Its story
The temple was built around AD 150, during the reign of Emperor Antoninus Pius, and dedicated to Apollo. The five columns and capitals that had stood side by side for centuries were restored between 1984 and 1990. Thanks to its setting where it meets the sea, it is the most photographed spot in Side.
