Its story
Also known as the Kızlar Manastırı (Maidens' Monastery), the church was built in the 19th century on top of a high rock that contains a chapel from the Byzantine period. Numerous obsidian tools and pottery sherds found around the hill show that the site was inhabited in much earlier times as well. A long tunnel in the rock, closed off with iron bars, draws attention. The view of Güzelyurt, the reservoir and Hasandağı from the stone path up to the church is one of the finest in the region.
