Kırkgöz Bridge

A long stone bridge over the Akarçay, built in 1150 by Byzantine Emperor Manuel I, with 57 arches today.
Its story
Kırkgöz Bridge spans the Akarçay about 7 km from central Bolvadin. It was built in 1150 by order of the Byzantine Emperor Manuel I Komnenos. Repaired and extended in the Seljuk and Ottoman periods, the bridge today has 57 arches. It stands out with its low, long silhouette across the broad floodplain of the Akarçay, which flows into Eber Gölü.
