Atatürk Pavilion (Termal)
Termal, Yalova
A pavilion museum next to the Termal hot springs, built for Atatürk in 1929 and used by him for rest.
Its story
Atatürk first visited Yalova in 1927 and took a special interest in the development of the hot springs. The pavilion beside the springs was built in 1929 to a design by the architect Sedat Hakkı Eldem and was used during Atatürk's stays in Yalova. The two-story building, with a simple plan inspired by the Turkish house tradition, is set on a wooded slope. Today, arranged as a museum, the pavilion displays items used by Atatürk and period furniture. It is easily combined with a visit to the springs.
