Karaca Arboretum
Merkez, Yalova
Türkiye's first private arboretum, founded by Hayrettin Karaca, home to thousands of tree and plant species.
Its story
Karaca Arboretum was founded in Yalova in 1980 by Hayrettin Karaca, one of the pioneers of nature conservation. In the garden spreading over the slopes, thousands of tree, shrub and plant species from different parts of the world are grown; the collection stands out especially for its oaks, maples and conifers. Besides being a scientific collection, the arboretum is also an important center for nature education. The period in autumn when the leaves change color is especially magnificent. Visits are made on the days and at the times set by the arboretum.
