Its story
Ovacık is one of Tunceli's districts with the harshest climate; it is reported that in winter more than two meters of snow can fall even in the district center. This abundant snow allows skiing for about four months of the year at the Ovacık Ski Center, established in 2015. According to GoTürkiye, the center has a T-bar and a lift; in the summer months activities such as mountain sledding can be done. Located on the southern slopes of the Munzur Mountains right next to the district center, the facility is a natural stop on the Tunceli–Ovacık journey through the Munzur Valley National Park. After skiing, you can visit the Munzur Springs or rest in the district center. Being quiet compared with the big ski centers is an advantage, especially for local people and beginners.
