Trabzonspor Şamil Ekinci Museum

A club museum displaying Trabzonspor's championship trophies and the famous 'half cup'.
Its story
The museum, named after Şamil Ekinci, one of the club's former presidents, opened in 1996 and was later rearranged and moved to the second floor of the Sadri Şener Social Facilities building. The museum displays about a thousand cups, shields and plaques, above all Trabzonspor's league, cup and super cup championships. The piece that attracts the most interest is the 'half cup': in the final of the 1958 Turkish Amateur Football Championship, when Trabzon İdmanocağı and Ankara Havagücü finished level on points and goal average, both teams were declared champions, the cup was cut in two, and one half came to Trabzon.
