Its story
The Taşlı Highland is south of the Köprübaşı district, at an altitude of about 2300 meters, on the border between Trabzon and Bayburt. The highland was established on the old caravan route between Bayburt and Sürmene and is in a central position for crossing to the other highlands around it. Köprübaşı was part of Sürmene until it became a district in 1990; today most of the summer houses still belong to families from Sürmene. In the summer months it is used both seasonally and for day trips; there are a few grocery shops, small hotels and two mosques. The wide pastures and mountain views are well suited to walking and photography.
