Its story
Sis Dağı (Mount Sis) rises on the border of Trabzon's Şalpazarı district and Giresun's Görele and Eynesil districts; its summit is 2182 meters. On the highland on the mountain's slopes, at an altitude of about 1950 meters, snow cover can remain until July; meadows covered with yellow and purple flowers attract visitors in summer. The highland was declared a tourism center in 2011, and the area on the Trabzon side was protected as the Sis Dağı Nature Park on 12 March 2019. Every year on the fourth Saturday of July, the traditional Sis Dağı festivities are organized by the Şalpazarı District Governorship and Municipality.
