Its story
The tower was built in 1902 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Abdülhamid II's accession to the throne and was raised to four stories in 1915. The cut-stone structure, about 33 meters high, has clock faces on all four sides; it chimes on the hour and the half-hour.
