Havza Atatürk House Museum
Havza, Samsun
The former Mesudiye Hotel where Mustafa Kemal stayed from 25 May to 13 June 1919; the first headquarters of the War of Independence, now a free museum.
Its story
While the two-story stone building was being run as the Mesudiye Hotel, Mustafa Kemal stayed here from 25 May to 13 June 1919, and it became the first headquarters of the National Struggle. In the building, registered in 1980, a study, a bedroom and the 'Havza Room' have been arranged; a telegraph, the first presidential seal and twelve questions in Atatürk's handwriting are on display.
