Its story
The museum was founded in 2011 in accordance with the will of Ahmet Hamdi İshakoğlu and officially gained private museum status in 2015. The single-story building, built of wood on a stone foundation, has an exhibition area of about 200 square meters and a gift shop section. The collection consists of objects belonging to the agriculture, animal husbandry, kitchen and domestic life of the people living in Çayeli and the surrounding villages in the 20th century, and arrangements re-creating this life. For those who want to get an idea about tea and corn farming, wooden house culture and local crafts, it is a short but instructive stop in central Çayeli.
