Its story
Demirkazık is a 3,757-meter peak rising in the Aladağlar in the Çamardı district; it was long thought to be the highest point of the range, but it was later found that Kızılkaya is higher. The first known ascent of the summit was made on 17 July 1927 by a German team; Veli Çavuş from the village of Demirkazık, who guided the team, also reached the summit. The mountain's difficult north face was first climbed in 1972. The village of Demirkazık and the Sokullupınar camping area are the starting points for summit climbs and Aladağlar trekking routes; the routes set by the provincial directorate include northern and southern approaches to the summit.
