Its story
Haçlı Lake, also known as Bulanık Lake or Kazan Lake, is a dam lake formed when the volcanic elevation to its north blocked the streams. It lies at an altitude of about 1580 meters, spreads over an area of some 27 km², and its depth does not exceed 7 meters; its mostly cloudy (bulanık) water gave its name to the district and the lake. Freshwater fish, carp above all, live in the lake; in winter its surface freezes. The Muş Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism presents the lake and the Bulanık Plain as a birdwatching area. It is reached by car in about 20 minutes from the Bulanık district center; the coordinate is on the lake's north shore.
