An 8 km canyon between Gökçeler and Karacahisar, with old watermills and caves.
Its story
Gökçeler Canyon stretches for about 8 km between the villages of Gökçeler and Karacahisar, southeast of Milas. The Değirmen Stream, also known as the Hamzabey Stream, flows through the canyon. There are known to have been many flour mills on the stream in the past; the remains of some of them can still be seen. There are nearly 30 caves in the canyon walls, and of these İncirliin Cave is open to visitors.
