Its story
The cave was explored and mapped in 1968 by the French speleologist Michel Bakalowicz. In research in 1970, in which Jacques-Yves Cousteau also took part, its underground connection with Suğla Lake was examined. In the horizontally extending galleries you see dripstones, stalactites and stalagmites, and underground lakes. Opened to tourism in 2004, the cave has illuminated walkways and is run by a private operator.
