Panorama Konya Museum
Karatay, Konya
A municipal museum telling the story of 13th-century Konya and the turning points in Rumi's life with a 360-degree dome panorama.
Its story
The museum, built by the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, opened on 7 December 2017 and became Türkiye's second domed panorama museum after Panorama 1453 in Istanbul. In the main hall, scenes such as the Konya of the 1240s and the meeting of Rumi and Shams are re-created with painting, models and sound. Other sections have exhibitions on Mevlevi culture and wax figures; the courtyard has models of Mevlevi lodges in various parts of the world. It is about 500 meters from the Mevlânâ Museum.
