Its story
Düden Lake is a shallow, slightly salty lake with no outflow, fed by the Kulu Deresi (Kulu Creek) and the surrounding springs. The nine small islands in the lake are breeding grounds for migratory waterbirds; more than 170 bird species have been recorded on the lake, and more than 50 have been found to breed. It is one of the important breeding areas of the globally protected white-headed duck; flamingos, avocets, black-winged stilts and gull-billed terns are also frequently seen. In dry years the lake surface can shrink considerably.
