The Gölcük Highland is one of the Taurus highlands attached to the Kuruçay neighborhood of Ahırlı. It is surrounded by cold, clean spring waters, pine forests and other Taurus tree species; many wild plants grow, above all thyme. The large picnic area on the highland is often visited by the people of Ahırlı and Yalıhüyük in the summer months. Because of its high position, it offers a wide view toward the Suğla Lake basin.
