SEKA Park
İzmit, Kocaeli
A large seaside park on the site of the former SEKA factory, stretching along the shore of the Gulf of İzmit.
Its story
SEKA Park was created by turning the land opened up along the shore after the paper factory closed into a city park. Lawns, walking and cycling paths, a pond, children's playgrounds and seaside viewpoints are the park's main features. The park is an important example of urban regeneration that has re-established İzmit's connection with its shoreline. On weekends it is a meeting place for families and sports enthusiasts. It is within walking distance of the SEKA Paper Museum and the Science Center.
