Mordoğan
Karaburun, İzmir
A seaside town on Karaburun's gulf coast, known for its natural beaches, windmills and ethnography house.
Its story
Mordoğan is on the gulf-facing east coast of the Karaburun Peninsula, about 20 km south of the district center. Its natural beaches, such as Kocakum, Ardıç and Ayıbalığı, get crowded in summer. You can visit the Müesser Aktaş Ethnography and History House, which gathers objects telling the peninsula's history, the Ayşe Hatun Mosque and historic windmills. Fishing boats and a seaside walking path line the shore.
