Meryemana Nature Park, declared in 2008, is İzmir's largest nature park with an area of about 363 hectares. About 12 km from Selçuk, the park covers the wooded slopes where the House of the Virgin Mary stands. The area, covered with pine forests and olive groves, has walking paths and viewpoints. Its natural assets are intertwined with cultural sites such as the ancient city of Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary; a visit is usually planned together with these places.
