A museum in Bahribaba Park displaying sculptures, sarcophagi and finds from the ancient cities of İzmir and its surroundings.
Its story
The museum is in Bahribaba Park in Konak and holds İzmir's most comprehensive archaeological collection. Artifacts from the excavations at Smyrna, Teos, Klazomenai, Erythrai, Panaztepe and Bayraklı are displayed chronologically. The Klazomenai sarcophagi, Roman-period sculptures and the coin collection stand out. The Ethnography Museum is directly opposite, and the two museums can be visited together.
