Yeşilada
Eğirdir, Isparta
A small lake island connected to Eğirdir by a road, with stone-based wooden houses and narrow streets.
Its story
Yeşilada is a small island in the lake, about 1.5 km from central Eğirdir, connected to the mainland by a road. With its stone-based wooden houses, narrow streets and fishermen's shelters, it preserves traces of old lake life. Greek Orthodox (Rum) families also lived on the island until the 1920s, and it is home to the 19th-century Church of St. Stephen (Aya Stefanos). Walking around the island takes less than half an hour; it is ideal for watching the lake change color from the shore.
