Türkiye's largest zoo by area, within the Burç forests, with a safari park, an aquarium and aviaries.
Its story
The zoo, operated by the Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality, opened in 2001 in the Wildlife Protection and Recreation Area of about 1,000 decares within Burç Nature Park. Thousands of animals of hundreds of species live in sections such as aviaries, an aquarium, a monkey house and a reptile house. In the section opened in 2018 and promoted as Türkiye's first safari park, African animals are watched while touring by bus; the site also has a zoology and nature museum. Because of the large area, you need to set aside half a day.
