A 17th-century madrasa restored by the municipality and turned into an art house exhibiting local crafts and culture.
Its story
Also known as the Hazımiye Madrasa, the building is recorded as having been commissioned by Sofuzade Mustafa Hazım Efendi. Through a repair carried out by Çankırı Municipality in 2004, it was converted into a museum and art house. The rooms of the madrasa display local crafts, traditional culinary culture and old costumes; art courses such as ebru (marbling), calligraphy and ney are also held. It is near the Buğday Pazarı Mosque in the city center. It is a cultural stop for those interested in local traditions such as yaran gatherings.
