Its story
Tuz Gölü is a shallow lagoon behind Aydıncık beach, separated from the sea by a sand barrier. In winter and spring flamingos, herons and various migratory waterbirds feed here. In summer, as the water recedes, salty mud flats appear along the lake's edge. It is the island's most accessible natural area for birdwatching and photography.
