Its story
Adatepe sits above Küçükkuyu on the southwestern slope of Kaz Dağı, at about 280 meters above sea level. Revived from the 1980s onward as its old stone houses were repaired in keeping with their original character, the village was declared a protected site in 1989. Stone streets, a square shaded by plane trees and an old church building make up the village's fabric. From the village a short walk leads up to the Altar of Zeus, overlooking the Gulf of Edremit and Lesbos (Midilli).
