Its story
Known in antiquity as the Mysian Olympus, Uludağ is the highest mountain in the Marmara Region, with its 2,543-meter Kara Tepe summit. Declared a national park in 1961, the area has rich vegetation ranging from beech, fir and black pine forests to alpine meadows. The hotel area is one of Türkiye's longest-established ski resorts and can be reached from the city by cable car. In summer, the Sarıalan and Kirazlıyayla recreation areas, summit hikes and glacial lakes are the highlights. Weather conditions on the mountain can change very quickly.
