Museum of Turkish and Islamic Art (Yeşil Madrasa)
Yıldırım, Bursa
A museum in the madrasa of the Yeşil Complex displaying tiles, manuscripts, costumes and Karagöz figures.
Its story
The museum is housed in the madrasa building of Çelebi Mehmed's Yeşil Complex. In the rooms around the arcaded courtyard, İznik and Kütahya tiles, wooden and metal works, calligraphy panels, textiles and jewelry are on display. Weavings and traditional costumes reflecting Bursa's silk-making past form an important part of the collection. The building itself is an example of early Ottoman madrasa architecture. It is visited together with the Yeşil Mosque and the Yeşil Türbe.
