Its story
Karataş Lake is a shallow freshwater lake in Karamanlı district, stretching in front of Karataş Hill and the Kağılcık Mountains. The broad reed beds of the lake, whose depth does not exceed a few meters, form breeding and feeding grounds for waterbirds such as herons, ducks and geese. Dozens of waterbird and songbird species and various raptors have been recorded in the area. The lake is protected as a wildlife development area and is a quiet stop for birdwatchers.
