Its story
Burdur Lake is among Turkey's large lakes by surface area and one of its deepest. Its salty, soda-rich water makes it one of the world's most important wintering grounds for the endangered white-headed duck. As a wetland of international importance it hosts more than 200 bird species, which can be watched from the birdwatching hide on the shore. Water sports such as canoeing, rowing and sailing are also done on the lake.
