Its story
The Gerede Clock Tower is in the district's Cumhuriyet Square and was erected in 1882. Made of pine wood, the tower is 12 meters high. Around the square are buildings such as Gerede's historic arasta and the Kiliseli Tüccar Hanı; the tower can be used as the starting point of this bazaar tour. Gerede is known for its traditional fair held in September and October; the fair's symbols, the geographically indicated Gerede şakşak helvası and Gerede keşi (dried curd), can be found in the district bazaar.
