Founded as a culture house in 2013 by the businessman Kenan Yavuz, it gained private museum status in 2019. On an area of about 8,000 square meters there are the village house where the founder grew up, a gecekondu (shanty) structure, a mansion, open and covered exhibition areas, traditional mills, a library focused on Dede Korkut, an exhibition of agricultural tools and a square dedicated to village craftsmen. Tiles produced by the İznik Foundation are also in the collection. The museum received the European Museum Forum's Silletto Prize in 2021.
