A private museum on the culture of the Tahtacı Turkmens, founded in 1991 and known as 'Türkiye's first village museum'.
Its story
The Tahtakuşlar Village Ethnography Gallery was founded on June 10, 1991 by Alibey Kudar, a primary school teacher born in the village. The gallery tells the story of the Tahtacı Turkmens, who migrated from Central Asia to Anatolia, settled in the Kaz Mountains and made their living from woodworking. Household items, clothing, kilims, tents, jewelry and objects relating to Kaz Dağı legends are on display. It is about 1.5 kilometers from Güre.
