Its story
Gönen needle lace (iğne oyası) is a craft passed down from generation to generation in the area, made by tying knots at the tip of a needle with silk or fine thread. The lacework, which adorns the edges of headscarves, trousseau items and clothing, mostly features flower and nature motifs. Gönen needle lace is registered with a geographical indication. Examples can be seen in the town bazaar and at handicraft shops.
