Geographically indicated olive oil and scored (çizik) olives from the groves on the southern slopes of Kaz Dağı.
Its story
With broad olive groves stretching from the southern slopes of Kaz Dağı down to the sea, the Gulf of Edremit is one of Türkiye's best-known olive oil regions. Edremit Gulf Region olive oils and Edremit Gulf green çizik (scored) olives are protected by geographical indications. The olive harvest and the pressing season at the oil mills, from October to December, are the liveliest time in the region. Olives and olive oil can be bought directly from producers at markets in and around Edremit.
