Its story
The national park covers the tip of Dilek Dağı (ancient Mykale) extending into the Aegean Sea and the Büyük Menderes Delta; its total area exceeds 27 thousand hectares. The peninsula section was protected in 1966 and the delta section in 1994. The coves of İçmeler, Aydınlık, Kavaklı Burun and Karasu, lined up after the Güzelçamlı entrance, are known for their clear water. The forested slopes are home to wildlife, and the delta to waterbirds such as flamingos and pelicans. The park's Canyon trail is one of its most popular hiking routes.
