Its story
The Aphrodisias Museum opened in 1979 to display the finds from the excavations of the ancient city. The collection consists of portraits and statues showing the mastery of the sculptors who worked here in the Roman and early Byzantine periods. The relief panels of the Sebasteion, depicting emperors and mythological scenes, are displayed together in the museum's special hall.
