Antalya Museum
Muratpaşa, Antalya
One of Turkey's largest archaeology museums, with works from the Lycian, Pamphylian and Pisidian civilizations.
Its story
The museum was founded in 1922 to protect the region's antiquities during the occupation period and for a time operated in the Yivli Minare Mosque. Its present building has numerous exhibition halls and an open-air gallery. The marble statues from the Perge excavations in particular form a world-class collection. Works ranging from prehistory to the Ottoman period tell the region's long past under one roof.
