Estergon Kalesi Turkish Culture Center
Keçiören, Ankara
A cultural center in Keçiören inspired by Estergon Castle in Hungary, with ethnography exhibits and Turkish gardens.
Its story
The Estergon Turkish Culture Center was designed as an interpretation of the historic Estergon (Esztergom) Castle in Hungary and opened on 29 May 2005. The five-story building houses ethnographic exhibits, sections on Ottoman and Turkish history, restaurants and craft shops. The tower's design took the octagonal body of the Kızılkule at Alanya Castle as its model. From the surrounding Asian gardens and terraces, the northern parts of Ankara can be viewed. Visit it knowing that it is a modern cultural center, not an authentic historic building.
