Atatürk House Museum (Atatürk Forest Farm)
Yenimahalle, Ankara
A museum at Atatürk Forest Farm in an exact-scale replica of the house in Thessaloniki where Atatürk was born.
Its story
The house was built by decision of the Ankara Chamber of Commerce to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Atatürk's birth. Its foundation was laid on 19 May 1981, and it opened on 10 November of the same year. Built three stories high and pink in color, faithful to the dimensions of the original house in Thessaloniki, it recreates the stone-floored entrance, kitchen, sitting and guest rooms and Atatürk's room with period furnishings. The museum lies within the grounds of the Forest Farm founded by Atatürk in 1925. It can be visited together with the farm's historic factories, zoo and recreation areas.
