Its story
The rock-fill Mamasın Dam was built on the Uluırmak Stream for irrigation; its height is about 45 meters. At normal water level it forms a lake of about 16 km² and irrigates more than 24 thousand hectares on the Aksaray Plain. The view of Hasandağı can be enjoyed from the hills on the lakeshore; the shores are popular on weekends for picnics and angling. It is on the same route as the Çanlı Church and Ağzıkara Han.
